H. E. Dunkle Storytelling

H.E. Dunkle? Who's That?

The H in H.E. stands for Hope!

You can take a guess what the E stands for. . .

I am a South Dakota native with a B.A. in English and Theatre Studies from the University of Sioux Falls.

I have over thirty theatre productions under my belt from the last four years of undergrad.

I've been writing since I was four years old. The first thing I wrote was the alphabet in green crayon on my parents' dining room wall (that wallpaper needed an update anyway).

My biggest accomplishment so far has been winning an Honorable Mention for the KCACTF Region V Undergraduate Playwright Award for my Play in One Act Finding Godot.

And now that I'm out of college, I'm starting my journey into freelance storytelling!

What Do You Mean by Storytelling?

I mean theatre productions, biographical interviews, blog posts, songs, films, essays, poems, video games, anything and everything that uses the power of the spoken or written word to communicate something! These words you're reading? Right now? They're telling you a story!

I have an immense understanding of and appreciation for the power stories have in our lives. They inspire, educate, and comfort. The stories I read, watched, listened to, and experienced in my life have directly impacted the person I am today. Those stories gave me confidence to be myself, peace in knowing I'm not alone in my struggles, and hope that someday, things will get better.

My Mission?

To provide consistent, quality, collaborative creativity through several storytelling mediums. Whether it’s doing behind-the-scenes tech work, writing poems, or anything in between, I have one goal in mind: do what I can to help tell a story.

My Vision?

To continue learning about and developing skill in as many storytelling mediums as I can, so that my work ethic and creativity never plateau or wither.
